Trash Collection Update

trashcan_transparentPlease note that Potomac Disposal is now GFL Environment, the trash collection contractor for Fountain Hills Community Association. The contractor has advised that they will deliver 65-gallon trash cans to residents in the townhome and single-family homes only over a four-day period: Thursday, September 29th, Friday, September 30th, Saturday, October 1st, and Monday, October 3rd.

Trash will only be collected from the trash cans that the contractor provides after you receive them. GFL will not collect trash that is in other trash cans or that is in plastic bags.

Trash will be collected on Monday, October 3rd, and Thursday, October 6th. Beginning the week of October 10th, trash will be collected once weekly; there will not be trash service on Monday, October 10th. The weekly service day will be Thursdays so trash will be collected on Thursday, October 13th.

These changes are generated by the contractor and not the Board of Directors or IKO Community Management.

Trash collection for Fountain Hills Condominium will remain the same. There is no change for those who live in the Fountain Hills Condominium.

Homeowner Property Maintenance

maroon_cirlce_hammerv2Remember, homeowners must keep their property and any improvements in good order and repair and free of debris. No items are to be stored in front of the house, lawns/shrubs are to be cut as needed, and bikes and toys are to be stored out of view when not in use. The Enforcement Committee will be inspecting properties and notices will be sent for any violations.

Rodent Control

rodentsThere is an issue with rats in the community that will require assistance from residents to eradicate. It is important that everyone ensure there are no food sources outside their homes for rats. Trash should not be placed outside in plastic bags, pet food bowls should not be left outside, and any clutter should be removed from outside your homes. Additionally, residents should never place food out for stray animals as it attracts rats. Go to this website for more information about preventing rats.

Trash and Recycling

trashcan_transparentAll materials prepared for collection must not be set out earlier than 5:00pm the day before your collection day. Recycling containers must be removed from the collection location no later than 5:00pm the day after.

Policy Resolution for Parking and Storage of Vehicles

document_transparentThe Board has approved a Policy Resolution for Parking and Storage of Vehicles which will govern all HOA maintained parking spaces in the community. All residents are encouraged to read this policy and report any violations to IKO Community Management.

For safety reasons, please do not park on the sidewalks as this blocks the sidewalks and forces residents to walk on the street. In addition, please obey all “No Parking” and “Fire Lane” signs. We have active towing throughout the community and vehicles will be towed. Play it safe and park properly!

Speeding in the Community

spedometert_transparentCounty law specifies a speed limit of 20 mph on private roads without posted speed limit signs. Help keep our community safe and please obey all stop signs and the community’s 20 mph speed limit.
