Call for Nominations, Meeting Schedule, and Annual CCOC Reminder
It is time again for the “Call for Nominations” for the seven (7) open positions on the Board of Directors. Each of the seven positions are up for election at the Annual Members Meeting of the Fountain Hills Community Association. The meeting will be held virtually at 7:30pm on Thursday, November 4, 2021. The official Annual Meeting Notice, Absentee Ballot/Proxy and Agenda will be mailed to members in October 2021. It will provide information necessary to join the virtual meeting.
It is important to both stability and effectiveness of the Association that qualified candidates serve on the Board. Board service means giving time and attention to the Community while attending to its needs, which can be rewarding. Responsibilities of the Board position encompass total Association operation that requires time commitment and meeting attendance by each Board member. Therefore, candidates should be willing to volunteer their time and become familiar with the Declaration, Bylaws, and existing rules of the Association. Each position carries a one-year term.
If you are interested or would like to nominate another homeowner for a Director position, please complete the Candidate Statement and return it no later than October 15, 2021 to Fountain Hills Community Association, c/o IKO Community Management, 3416 Olandwood Court, Suite 210, Olney, MD 20832, via email to firstname.lastname@example.org or via fax to 301-924-9389. Candidate Statements must be received by October 15, 2021 in order to be included on the proxy that will be a part of the official Annual Meeting notice.

Homeowner Property Maintenance
Remember, homeowners must keep their property and any improvements in good order and repair and free of debris. No items are to be stored in front of the house, lawns/shrubs are to be cut as needed, bikes and toys are to be stored out of view when not in use. The Enforcement Committee will be inspecting properties and notices will be sent for any violations.
There is an issue with rats in the community that will require assistance from residents to eradicate. It is important that everyone ensure there are not food sources outside their homes for rats. Trash should not be placed outside in plastic bags, pet food bowls should not be left outside, and any clutter should be removed from outside your homes. Additionally, residents should never place food out for stray animals as it attracts rats. Go to this website for more information about preventing rats.
Trash and Recycling
All materials prepared for collection must not be set out earlier than 5:00pm the day before your collection day. Recycling containers must be removed from the collection location no later than 5:00pm the day after. County collection regulations require that all materials prepared for collections must be at curbside no later than 7:00am on your designated trash and/or recycling day. Please also be aware that trash and recycling containers are not to be stored outside on non-collection days, nor are they allowed to be stored on common area property. Bulk Trash Notice for Residents Served by Potomac Disposal
If your regular trash service provider is Potomac Disposal and you need to dispose of a variety of bulk items, visit the Potomac Disposal website for more details and to schedule a pickup.
EV Charging Station
The Fountain Hills Community is now home to an electric vehicle (EV) charging station located at 18701 Club Plaza Drive. Look for the EV Charging Station in the Condominium parking area below the Fountain Hills Pool. The FHC-ChargePoint EV Charging Station is operated by the Fountain Hills Condominium. The Condominium has opened membership for use of the EV Charging Station to all residents of the Fountain Hills Community. Membership is free and Fountain Hills Community members pay only a small fee based on the electricity they consume. Policy Resolution for Parking and Storage of Vehicles
The Board has approved a Policy Resolution for Parking and Storage of Vehicles which will govern all HOA maintained parking spaces in the community. All residents are encouraged to read this policy and report any violations to IKO Community Management. For safety reasons, please do not park on the sidewalks as this blocks the sidewalks and forces residents to walk on the street. In addition, please obey all “No Parking” and “Fire Lane” signs. We have active towing throughout the community and vehicles will be towed. Play it safe and park properly!
Speeding in the Community
County law specifies a speed limit of 20 mph on private roads without posted speed limit signs. Help keep our community safe and please obey all stop signs and the community’s 20 mph speed limit.
